When you have a few minutes, invite God to join you and let the people who have been in your life, past and present, go through your mind.  When you have a strong feeling about anyone, take note, but try to keep moving.  The point is to identify the key people in your life, not everyone you’ve ever interacted with.  Your memory will likely do this automatically.  There are some people who we simply can’t forget, for either good reasons or bad.

After you have gone through your life, return to those whom you felt most strongly about and imagine God desiring to bless them.  Is this how you think God feels about them right now?  How do you feel about this?

Do you sense God encouraging you to take any steps towards any of these people?  A phone call, a letter or email, a visit?  A strong word or a soft word?  If so, I encourage you to make a note of it and come back to it in a couple of days and formulate a plan for doing it.

As you come to a close read through the following scripture twice slowly, inviting God to enter the space.

Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:36-40)
Do unto to other as you will have then do until you. (Luke 6:31)

Let’s be open to what the next three weeks looking at Jonah will lead us.
